Rachel (Ms. Waletzko) grew up in Albany, MN. She graduated in 2016 from St. Mary’s University in Winona with a degree in Elementary Education and a Spanish minor. Unsure of where she wanted to teach but zealous for the Lasallian charism of guiding students to Christ through education, she spent two years as a Lasallian Volunteer teaching in Memphis, TN. There, she learned the value of working in Catholic schools where faith and education together allow students (and adults!) to grow more fully into who they are called to be (and ate some delicious BBQ!) She then moved back to central MN to be closer to family and taught 3rd grade for three years at St. Mary Help of Christians School in St. Augusta. Discerning a new life season was beginning, she joined the SJB team in the fall of 2021 and moved to Richfield. Grateful for the ways her time at SJB invited growth and a greater call to uphold the dignity of every person, she looks forward to another year assisting in the Montessori elementary environment!
